i4 was founded by two graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Wrocław University of Technology. After graduating in 2013, the founders started working as Process Engineers in a plant producing car axle shafts. In the same place, since 2015, they had the opportunity to implement the MES class system (Manufacturing Execution System), which was to collect production data from all machines (over 500 in total) of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Assembly. The experience gained, which combined knowledge of production processes and IT systems, was appreciated by subsequent employers from the automotive and food industries. The next step leading to the establishment of the company was work and integration with IT platforms and systems (e.g. ERP / SAP), as well as building own solutions for employers in the field of Industry 4.0 in international concerns related to the automotive, food, manufacturing and chemical industries. All these companies had one thing in common - they had the resources to build multi-person teams that dealt with systems related to Industry 4.0. At that moment, the idea of starting my own company was born. i4 was established in August 2020 as a response to the growing interest in modern IT systems supporting daily business in the business areas of production companies. The offer was addressed mainly to medium and smaller enterprises that do not have the same budgets as large corporations that create similar solutions within their departments. The idea is to create systems related to Industry 4.0 that operate autonomously and do not require maintenance by multi-person teams. i4 offers both the implementation of ready-made systems "out of the box" and the creation of systems dedicated to specific companies, as well as their implementation and support or administration.
As i4, we approach each client individually, and all implementations are preceded by audits of the places where the solution will be implemented. This approach, combined with modularity, guarantees that the customer pays only for the solutions he needs, without creating additional costs in the form of useless functionalities. The experience gained both in Production Engineering and the IT industry allows us to understand the customer's needs from both the business and production side, which in turn ensures the accuracy of the implementation of solutions that meet the needs. We are aware that not every company can afford to maintain an IT department that will supervise the operation of the systems. In this case, we are also able to offer complete outsourcing in the implementation, maintenance or administration of the implemented tools.
We also offer short and long-term audits of systems and platforms related to Industry 4.0 currently used by clients. We also maintain and develop solutions that we do not own, as well as integrate such systems and platforms.
